If you apply makeup regularly, and use the same brushes day after day, you are rubbing bacteria and day old makeup all over your face and eyes, which can cause numerous skin problems. Washing your makeup brushes is the perfect way to ensure that you're giving your face all the TLC it deserves.
Thankfully cleaning your makeup brushes is so easy and you might already have everything you need for this at home, DIY cleaner. If not, it is all cheap!

What You Need:
As Easy as 1-2-3-4
Step 1: Starting
Wet your brush under a water faucet.
Step 2: Cleaning
Put some shampoo in your hand and swirl brushes around your palm until the bubbly suds are white.
Step 3: Washing
Rinse the soap out until the water runs clear. Re-shape brushes immediately.
Step 4: Drying
Lay out a towel length-wise and roll or fold half of it. Once you have finished cleaning and rinsing your brushes, lay them on a towel with the handles on the roll and the bristles on the flat end so the water drains out. Let brushes sit overnight or for at least 4 hours, until dry.
Voilà! Feel free to start petting and fluffing your freshly clean and soft brushes!
The Don't Do:
I wanted to show you that its important not to completely soak your entire brush. If you do, it can cause the glue that holds the brush to handle to loosen up and separate.
You can see in the above pictures where my thumb is touching, what is called, "the ferrule". It is important that you don't let water reach past this point, or, as you saw, the brush will break and need to be glued together or tossed in the bin.
